About Project Hospitality
Serving Staten Island Since 1982
For more than four decades, Project Hospitality has served as a lifeline for Staten Islanders experiencing hunger, homelessness, illness, and crisis.
Founded in 1982 as a small soup kitchen and emergency shelter, Project Hospitality has grown into Staten Island’s largest nonprofit organization providing full-circle support for individuals and families working toward stability and self-sufficiency.
Today, the organization supports more than 40,000 residents each year through a comprehensive network of programs that meet urgent needs, address the root causes of instability, and help community members move forward with dignity.

Our Approach
A Circle of Support
For many Staten Islanders, the first step to stability may be a meal, a safe place to stay, or help navigating an immediate crisis.
From there, Project Hospitality connects individuals with the support they need to address deeper challenges, including housing instability, health concerns, recovery, financial insecurity, and long-term self-sufficiency.
This full-circle approach allows us to meet people where they are and walk alongside them as they move toward a more secure future.
Strategic Pillars
Talent & Culture • Mission Impact • Sustainability • Governance & Stewardship • Community Influence & Partnerships
Our strategic pillars guide how we invest in our work, strengthen our partnerships, and plan for the future of care across Staten Island. They offer a clear view of the priorities shaping our next chapter.
