Women's Prevention Program - RAPTURE

(Raising Awareness Prevention Through Understanding, Responsibility, and Education)

RAPTURE provides HIV prevention services to substance-using, homeless, or marginally housed women and their sexual partners. The program targets African-Americans, Latinas, and others who are at high risk of contracting HIV. Outreach, individual and group interventions are provided at various Project Hospitality sites. In addition, workshops and individual sessions are conducted on sexually transmitted diseases, health education and wellness, body image, domestic violence, self-esteem, skills-building and assertiveness training. The overall goal is to engage individuals sufficiently to move them to HIV counseling and testing.
